Drake - Take Care Review

"Listen, enjoy it, buy it if you like it...and take care until next time." Drake

Drake's long awaited album "Take Care" leaked this past Sunday and has set blogs and opinions on fire.  So of course I had to download and listen as well.  Drake did respond to the leaks on twitter by posting the quote that you see above.  If you want to officially buy the album, it will be released on November 15th.  I know you are wondering what my opinion about the album is, so here it goes.  I think the album is definitely a "must have" for your music collection.  However, I don't believe it's as good as his previous album "Thank Me Later".  That's just my opinion though.  I love the vibe of the album and the samples (especially the use of obscure samples from Houston rap legend ESG), but this one lacked the fire and explosion that "Thank Me Later" had.  Once again though, I like this album.  I think it will do well even with the leak and will be an album that is talked about in Hip Hop for years to come.  Stand out tracks are "The Motto" feat. Lil' Wayne, "HYFR" feat. Lil' Wayne, "Take Care" feat. Rihanna, "Lord Know's" feat. Rick Ross, "Look What You've Done" and "Over My Dead Body".  If you've heard the leak, what did you think about it?

  1. This album is the following up to the mixtape "So Far Gone". That's why he has the Htown sample, melody feel on the songs, and such. It was an artist putting out they're heart instead of the next hit album.
