Obama Responds to My Wedding Invite
I'm getting married this Saturday and I must say I am looking forward to it. With a planning wedding you go through the typical steps. You pick colors, you pick food and you invite guests. There were a few high profile guests on my list. One of those people was President Barack Obama. Well, we finally got a response from him. Here's what he sent. Needless to say he isn't going to be able to make it. I guess running the country is more important :(
I also invited my favorite rodent. Mickey Mouse. He can't come either. But he did send me an autographed photo and a button.
I also invited Texas Governor Rick Perry who also declined. He just simply sent back the response card. Mickey could send me a pic and Obama wrote a nice letter. Can I at least get some Texas love?
See everybody else this Saturday.

Best ALBUM of the Summer (thus far)
I know the title of this article is a bold statement, but I stand by it fully. Bad Meets Evil is the pairing of Eminem and Royce Da 5'9". This album is INCREDIBLE. If you're looking for lyrics and a "hip hop" album, then this is something you need to add to your collection. Think of the first time you hear "The Marshall Mathers LP". Now think of that updated to 2011 but better. That is what this Bad Meets Evil "Hell: The Sequel" EP is.
The track "Lighters" with Bruno Mars is a great "radio/safe" record. I can see this one making waves on the charts. But the album as a whole is semi dark with gritty humor mixed in. Typical Eminem fashion. Royce holds his own on the EP as well. The mass public may not know who Royce Da 5'9" is but he is one of the most respected rappers in the business and this pairing is incredible. "I'm On Everything" samples segments from a Mike Epps stand up about drugs and todays youth. But the way Em and Royce flip it and rap about drugs is classic. I'm not a drug user at all and I can get the humor and appreciate the record. "Fast Lane" is another great track that has perfect production and both rappers ride the beat seamlessly.
If you want a record that mixes great production and lyrics and is "hip hop" then this is the perfect album. Mark my words this is THE album of the summer. A classic.
Ballin' (Literally and Figuratively)
What do you do after you beat Lebron James and the Miami Heat? If you're Dirk Nowitzki, you celebrate by buying a bottle of Ace of Spades for $90,000. Well, technically Mark Cuban bought it. Reports say Cuban spent over $100,000 in four hours to celebrate the Mavs championship win, with the bulk of it being spent on the bottle of champagne that you can see in the picture to the left. Cuban is also a great tipper. Apparently, he left a $20,000 tip to the waitstaff. When asked if it was all worth it Cuban replied "Worth every penny".

Alamo Drafthouse PSA
If you live in Austin and haven't been to an Alamo Drafthouse Theater, then you are truly missing out on an experience. And I truly mean experience. Alamo has a lot of special screenings that you won't see at other theaters. The food is also great. And the pre-show clips are always entertaining. I always though it was funny that before a movie was shown, they would tell you to tell your cell phone off or they would "take your ass out". I guess they mean it. Apparently, a young lady was on her phone during a movie and, after being warned several times to turn her phone off, was promptly escorted out of the theater. But the story doesn't stop there. She called Alamo Drafthouse and left a message. Alamo turned the message into their latest PSA. Check out the censored version below.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes Trailer
For some weird reason the Planet of the Apes franchise has always intrigued me. Well, they have added a new installment to the series. But this time it's an updated version of how the apes came to be in control. Check out the trailer and prepare for its release on August 5th.
End of an Era
Shaquille O'Neal has announced that he is going to retire from the NBA. I can say that this did make me feel sad. No more Shaq Diesel? This is one of my favorite basketball players of all time. I mean, the first basketball jersey I ever bought as a kid was a Shaquille O'Neal Orlando Magic jersey. But honestly, it has been sad to see him struggle every night these past two years with Cleveland and Boston. Good news is, according to Shaq via Tout, the Lakers are going to retire his jersey. I wonder how that makes Kobe feel. Anyway. So with the retiring of Shaq, I thought it only right to remember him with some of my favorite memories. Reminisce with me.
And remember this broken backboard?
And remember when Shaq rapped?
Hangover 3?
The Hangover 2 broke all kinds of crazy weekends this past weekend. Even with the bad reviews from critics, which I totally didn't understand because the movie was hilarious, people went to see the movie in droves. So, you guessed the Hangover 3 is on the way. Sort of. Craig Mazin, the writer of The Hangover 2, has all ready been hired to write the third and final installment of the comedy franchise. A rumored location for the third movie would be Amsterdam. I can all ready see the trouble Allan would get in to. However, Warner Bros. has not yet greenlit a third Hangover movie. With all the money part two made it only makes cents (get it CENTS). But what do you think? Should they leave it at two or make a third?
